A Career Built Step by Step

Some careers are planned. Others are built one role at a time. For Hayden Fowlkes, it has been the second path. Today, he is a Vice President, where he works in residential land development. But his story starts in a small Texas town and grows through steady progress, not shortcuts.

“I started as an Engineer I and just kept working my way up,” Hayden says. “Each role taught me something new.” That mindset—consistent growth—defines his career.

Growing Up in Dripping Springs, Texas

Hayden grew up in Dripping Springs, Texas. He went to the same schools from elementary through high school. It was a close-knit environment that shaped his work ethic early. He stayed busy. Sports were a big part of his life.

“I played football, soccer, and ran track,” he says. “It kept me disciplined and competitive.”

That mix of teamwork and accountability carried into his professional life. Balancing academics and athletics also helped him build structure—something engineers rely on every day. He graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 2009 with both academic and athletic achievements.
